Advanced battery components - (01/04/2009)

President Barack Obama announced $2.4Bn in funding to produce the next generation of hybrid electric vehicles and the advanced battery components. This includes up to $1.5Bn in grants to produce highly efficient batteries and their components. The Department of Energy plans to provide assistance to construct recycling plants for Lithium-Ion and other advanced batteries.
